I Got a TABLET

Note: I originally posted this on January 6th, but moved it back one post so as not to interrupt the storyline.

Yes, woohoo! I did indeed get a tablet, and all comics from this point have been and will be made using one.

You may be wondering why I got a tablet after already making the first page of the story arc, but that page is part of what made me realize I needed one in the first place.

And boy, did I need one – I had actually gotten to the point where I was going over, refining, and even replacing EVERY SINGLE INKED LINE that I was scanning in. So now I just scan in a sketch and ink directly in Photoshop, and it works pretty well. The lines are much cleaner and more uniform, and the pages in general are more consistent, since the final product of each page is now basically done entirely on the computer.

But…it doesn’t seem to be much less time consuming than before. Maybe I just need more practice with it. Oh, and don’t worry, the pages are still in the same style as the first one, I think I’ve done a pretty good job of that. The way I’ve done these two grinning buffoons here is more of an experiment, but I do like how they came out. Maybe I’ll try it that way for the 5th story arc.
